28/8/19 The interesting history of Massage.

I found this passage in an early book on Naturopathy "Massage is an excellent form of passive exercise. The word is derived from the Greek word ‘massier’ which means to knead. It involves the scientific manipulation of the soft tissues of the body. If correctly done on a bare body, it can be highly stimulating and invigorating.

As far back as 400 B.C. , the great Hippocrates, the father of medicine, employed massage and manipulation in healing his patients."

I have no idea as to the age of the book but it is likely from the 1920's. What is interesting is how lucid the text is. They were onto something good and they knew it.

All I can say is that it is wonderful to be able to practice and share it with you.

What's been your history with massage?

Warmest wishes, Miro
