About Zen HandsSelf Care

During your Shiatsu treatment you were taken through a number of stretch sequences. These free energy and open meridians. They lengthen the benefits of treatment.

After your shiatsu session you may have been prescribed certain stretch exercises from the Mako Ho series. They are listed below to refresh your memory.

Before you start I will just mention a few pointers. Never force a stretch. Warm up first; hot shower, a brisk walk etc are great. Then take your time - ease into it - each stretch takes time for your body to adjust, time for it to release. The longer and slower you execute it the better the results. stretch4a1Work on feeling tight muscles and see if you can slowly let them go.

Try using your breath. Breathe in and let go on the out breath, gradually, over a number of breaths. Visualise letting go. There is a saying - good things take time. This is so true in any king of stretching. Once you have spent sufficient time on a stretch go on to others. stretch4aReturn and repeat the specific stretches noted from your shiatsu session a number of times. StomachandSpleen2No stretch should hurt, if it does, stop, relax, try some warmup rotations and then return. StomachandSpleen1Ifstretch4 pain returns stop and contact me or if you have a treatment already booked be sure to bring it to my attention. StomachandSpleen1aIt may simply be a case of positioning your body badly or perhaps you have symptoms of disharmony showing.

Your technique may just need a tweak or there could be greater parts at play. In either case I am here to help.
